On August 12, 2026, Mallorca will witness something truly rare: a total solar eclipse at sunset.
From 9–14 August, as the sky prepares for the Total Solar Eclipse of 12 August, we gather in the mountains and by the sea of the Tramuntana — on what is considered the most powerful location on the island to witness this celestial passage.
Our home for the week is an authentic Mallorcan house in Fornalutx, nestled above Sóller, with a swimming pool and wide views over the mountains that meet the coast. A place where stone, silence, and sky hold their own quiet wisdom.
Food is at the heart of the retreat. Throughout the week, long shared meals bring everyone together around the table. Our chefs take inspiration from modern Mediterranean cuisine, preparing vibrant dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from the valley. Here, food becomes a daily ritual—convivial, sensory, and deeply satisfying.
This trip is not built around spectacle, but around alignment. A solar eclipse is a reset — a moment when light withdraws, shadows speak, and something new is seeded. In astrology, it marks accelerated change, revelation, and course correction.
Days move between mountains and sea, quiet mornings and long evenings. The landscape sets the tone; the table brings people together; the eclipse offers a special, shared moment of alignment.

Each morning begins with a fresh, abundant breakfast. Evenings unfold slowly, with carefully prepared dinners that honor the island’s culinary richness. Food will be thoughtful, generous, and shared — a sensory anchor for a week that moves between sky and earth

– A fully catered sunset boat journey along the dramatic coastline of the Tramuntana—jump into the turquoise sea, spot fish, or relax with a book on the deck

Sjors
Sjors is a Dutch chef trained in French cuisine, with experience running his own restaurant and cooking at festivals. Known for his lively spirit, he brings energy and warmth to every gathering—rarely the first to leave the party.
Ralf
Ralf is a Dutch chef and private retreat cook on the island. Co-owner of an Italian deli and catering company in Amsterdam, he crafts healthy Mediterranean dishes with the same passion he brings to Asian cuisine.
Frances
Frances is a passionate animal lover, horse riding instructor, and jewellery designer. She adores the island and will guide you through its landscapes, sharing its wild beauty and remarkable wildlife.
Valentine
Valentine, a food enthusiast and interior designer, explores the island alongside Frances. Together, they know the hidden coves and secret spots, and have curated the week’s experiences to showcase the island at its very best.

Can Reus
At the heart of Fornalutx sits Can Reus, an authentic Mallorcan house full of old-world character and sweeping views of the Tramuntana. Usually run by a Swedish couple who fell in love with the island, the house becomes entirely ours for the week. Set on a quiet stone street in what is often called one of Spain’s most beautiful villages.
